Bowl Update

2 games...2 losses. That was how my night went.

We should have realized it was a terrible pick once we all agreed on MIAMI over WIS...too much homerism in play I guess. I still think with a healthy Cooper and Harris the Canes coulda/shoulda beat them and covered. Buck the Fadgers.

Temple got my hopes up, but then the stud frosh RB gets injured and the offense goes in the tank. I really don't like Rick Neuheisel...he's a d-bag. Hope Carroll beats them 60-0 next season so he can whine some more.

With that...the updated standings:

26 points down...74 to go

MK-18
JG-14
MH-14
MC-14
JR-11
MR-10
AW-10
SS-10
GR-7

Still waiting on cash from the following guys: KOBOW, JARED, HEINERT, CORCORAN, ROE

Please send over a $20 check or get me $20 in cash sometime soon before we get too far along and forget about it. Thanks.

Today - 6 more points on the line...

Classic tilt this afternoon to start things:

BGSU vs. IDAHO (pickem)
HUMANITARIAN Bowl

Idaho's first bowl in...forever. That was a good angle with TEMPLE too...right? Bowling Green has been up and down, they throw it all over the place and score a bit (over 30 the last 4 games). Idaho lost 4 of their last 5, hasn't covered since 10/10, and has given up 115 the last 2 games. Of their 7 wins, only 3 have come by more than 1 score. Bottom line...they'll be overmatched playing on emotion so a hot start by BGSU should end this thing.

Who you got? Leader MK is on IDAHO with SS...all else on BGSU!

Tonight's tilt should be a little more entertaining:

NEBRASKA vs. ARIZONA (pick'em)
HOLIDAY Bowl

Nice matchup, as always, in the Holiday Bowl. I think we all know about NEB...all D, no offense. Only allowed 11 ppg this season and lost on a last second FG to TEX, by 1 to VT, routed by TTECH, and had 8! turnovers against the Clones to lose 9-7. The offense is not good, but I have to believe that D will carry them once again tonight. ARI is a little more of an unknown to most of us. Since the clunker they played against IOWA, they changed QB's and have averaged 31 ppg. Lost a close one to ORE, by 8 at CAL, by 3 at WASH, and by 10 to IOWA. This team has arrived after being brutal for such a long time. IOWA is probably the best D they've played, and their success was minimal. I think NEB kick start their way into a big 2010 and gets the running game going for a 20-17 victory.

Who ya got? JR, MK, GR all on HuskerNation...everyone else is anti-Big Red.

Tomorrow we have 5 games on the slate...I'm working the morning, basically just to write the big 5 game preview including the grand-daddy of them all...the Insight Bowl.
